Bristol Energy Cooperative
How we have helped? Bristol Energy Cooperative (BEC) is a ground-breaking community benefit society founded in 2011. BEC has over 9MW of solar PV under community ownership and has provided over £250,000 of community benefit payments to local organisations since inception.
We helped BEC originate and deploy a new £1.5m portfolio of community microgrid assets comprising over 2MWh of battery energy storage and rooftop solar. Our market leading community microgrid technology platform manages project development and secures operational revenues, freeing BEC to focus on their strategic objectives.

Our approach
We work closely with some of the most ambitious Place Makers in the UK to research opportunities to develop net zero energy communities. Then we help Place Makers and Impact Investors collaborate to build the long-term investment business case and apportion the value between stakeholders.
During development we manage the deployment of Impact Investor capital and manage installers to ensure the assets will perform optimally once they become operational. Subsequently, our market-leading microgrid system operator platform reports your returns and impact metrics over the lifetime of your investment.
